21,261!!

My story has officially reached the 20,000 word mark! *celebrates*

Can't wait to write some more tomorrow! I would write more tonight if it weren't for three things being tired: hands from writing, fingers from typing, and brain from a long day.

I know what's going to happen in the next chapter (anything after that, I'm coming up blank) so it shouldn't be too difficult to write.

Have a great day!

I Hate Registering.

That's all there is to it, is that statement up there. I hate it. With a fiery passion.

Oh, registration, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways:
  • More than a vegetarian hates meat
  • More than a Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobic hates long words
  • More than the mid-1830's Missourians hated the Mormons
  • More than the amount of Jacob's hatred towards Edward
  • More than Edward's hatred towards Jacob
  • More than Dan's loathing of baby-daters
  • More than the Cougars hate the Utes
  • More than the Grinch hated Christmas at first
  • More than the McCabe family hates the Lakers
  • More than Sue Sylvester hates the Glee Club
  • More than I hate the frigid temperatures of Rexburg
  • More than Ron Weasley hates spiders
  • More than Professor Snape hates any Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher
  • More than Lord Voldemort hates Harry Potter
  • More than Riverton Silverwolves hate the Bingham Miners
  • More than I hate grammar errors
  • More than MLIA people hate Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Twilight
  • More than Google-lovers hate Yahoo!
  • More than I hate hot dogs
  • More than Harry Potter fans hate Twilight
And that's saying something.

Darren Gene McCabe

To my dad, on his 42nd birthday...I would try to do 42 things that I love about him, but that would take forever to come up with and forever to read. So I'll just spout out the things I love about him, and we'll see what that number is at the bottom :)
  1. Well, you're my dad. Kinda supposed to love you. JK I love you anyway :)
  2. Even though I complained about it all during my middle and high school years, I'm grateful that you are tall and that you passed it on to me. :)
  3. I love the fact that you are skinny (and that you passed it on to me :P).
  4. I love your love of the gospel, and that you spend a great amount of time trying to instill that love into each of your kids.
  5. Your selflessness is pretty awesome. Mom told me what you volunteered to do at The Valley Journals.
  6. Your willingness to serve. Whilst you were in the bishopric, every time you were asked to do something, you immediately agreed, no questions asked (unless something big in the family was already scheduled).
  7. Remember how when I was like 16 you tried doing that monthly "father/child" talk with each of us? That was amazing. I loved (still do) how you devoted an hour or so to that child, and wouldn't let any other thing get in the way of that hour. I can honestly say my life was better for that one hour during such a dark time in my life.
  8. The fact that you honor your Priesthood. Every single Father's Blessing you have given me for school meant so much to me. And whenever you give a Priesthood Healing Blessing (pretty sure that's not the correct name, but whatever), you always knew exactly what to say.
  9. Your willingness to listen. Whenever I had a problem, I could easily talk to you, and you would listen to me. Thank you for that :)
  10. I love the fact that you were calm when I got in my car accident over the summer. Of all the times in my life that I thought you would get mad at me, you didn't. Sure, you were disappointed, but not super mad like I thought you would be.
  11. Everything you do for the family. You go to work to provide for them, cook dinner when Mom doesn't feel like it, help make sure the kids do their chores, sometimes do house fixer-uppers (I will NEVER let go of the fact that I never got closet doors. Just to let you know. :P), etc.
  12. I love how you pushed me to finish my Personal Progress in Young Womens. Without your persistance, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have finished. Thanks :)
  13. I love your testimony of the gospel. Every time I hear it, I can always feel the spirit. I hope my testimony can be as strong as yours one day.
  14. I don't know if you remember this, but there was this one night my senior year of high school that I was up really late doing a preschool project that was taking a really long time, and you offered to help. I just love the fact that you offered.
  15. Your awesome math skills. They came in handy over the years. Come fall semester, you can expect calls for help again. But I promise that's the last time you'll ever hear me asking for help with math (besides taxes).
  16. Your love for mom. Her surprise birthday party last year was awesome and really nice. And its so cute whenever you give her flowers or a random massage gift card :)
  17. I love the fact that you wake up around 3:30 ish every Tuesday morning to go work in the temple, because mom didn't like it when you went on Saturdays during the day.
  18. I love how you would always hold FHE every Monday, and how you would try to wait for me to come home from work to start it.
  19. This is for when I was younger, but it still applies. Anyway. I love the fact that you don't have to travel more than 20 minutes for your job at any point in time. I didn't exactly love it when I was younger and you would fly to who knows where Sunday evening, come home Thursday night, work all day Friday, spend Saturday with the family, and then fly out again on Sunday. Now, you just have to hop, skip, or jump (I guess walking works just as well) across the driveway to get to work.
  20. You're just awesome. And I love you. :)
  21. I laughed when you asked why I don't call home a lot. I really should call more often, just to "say hi" like you suggested. I'll start working on that. :)
Love you, Dad!! I can only hope my future husband is as amazing as you are. I can't wait to see you Conference weekend, and maybe I'll talk to you soon ;)

Ignore the oldness of this picture. :)

Caitlyn Janelle McCabe

To my sister, on her 13th birthday, I present 13 reasons as to why I love her:
  1. You're my sister. Why shouldn't I love you??
  2. Caitlyn, even though we didn't really get along when we were growing up (you're still growing up...so I guess this should say when I was growing up), I'm glad we get along now. :)
  3. We're natural gangstas (see bottom for proof)
  4. You're GORGEOUS!!! (see above for proof)
  5. You know how to have fun
  6. You're AMAZING at piano. Congrats to you, Caitlyn, for sticking with it. You truly are amazing--I'm jealous of your skills.
  7. You're nice to everyone--the "clique" crap that plagues our home ward doesn't change who you are.
  8. Caitlyn, remember that one SUPER long chat we had over Christmas break? I really enjoyed it :) you can come to me whenever you need advice about anything. Or when you just want to talk to someone. :)
  9. Even though you don't anymore, you were awesome at dance! You were pretty much a natural.
  10. I love being around you (now--growing up, not so much :\).
  11. You're hilarious! Its really hard not to laugh whenever I'm around you.
  12. I don't think I could have asked for a better first sister to have. Even though we didn't really get along in the past, we do now, and now every time I go home, I'm excited to be with you :)
  13. I just love you!
Love you, Bubbles!!! Can't wait to see you Conference Weekend, and maybe I'll talk to you soon ;)

Gangstas :)

What to Write About...

Well, it's almost 1:00 AM right now. And, thanks to Daylight Savings Time ending, my body thinks its before midnight still. So, I don't feel the slightest bit tired (which is weird cuz I was falling asleep whilst watching a movie). Or maybe it has nothing to do with Daylight Savings Time ending, but everything to do with the bowl of Cocoa Pebbles I ate an hour ago for dinner...

Either way, I'm not tired, I was on here, and I felt the need to let you all know that I'm awake (but probably won't be by the time anyone reads this).

Life was good this past week. I won't go into all the details like I have been recently, but here's a summary of what I've been up to:

*signed my contract for my new apartment!
*wrote a letter to my missionary friend in Brazil
*talked to my mom, dad, brother, sister, other sister, other other sister, foreign exchange student, nana, and grandpa. TOTALLY made my day!
*acquired mucho musica from the people I babysit for (they have TONS of CDs)
*hated Glee for once
*made plans to go down to Utah conference weekend!
*finally worked on my story
*had a Twilight party with Nancy
*went to Sienna's bridal shower
*watched Aladdin
*amazing lessons in Relief Society and Sunday School
*hung out with Ron
*figured out the dessert for FHE "tomorrow" (technically it's today)
*wrote this blog

And now, I'm going to attempt to go to sleep (after writing today's journal). Have a good day, and Happy Pi(e) day!!

11,253!

Today, I broke the 10,000 word mark on my story! Very excited at this! :)

For those of you who don't know what its about (which is most of you), here's a VERY brief synopsis of my story: Twin girls. Twin A gets pregnant. Body can't support baby, so they transfer baby from Twin A to Twin B.

Obviously, there's more in there, but I didn't want to say more than that.

Now. I know that it is impossible to transfer a baby from one body to another. I don't care. It's my story, and I reserve the right to a creative license. Besides. There are hundreds of books about alternate universes out there, and no one has a problem with it. So, I see no problem about writing a story about a medical impossibility. Just to throw that out to all the haters out there. :)

On to the 20,000 word mark (no idea when that is)!

Miracle Workers

All day, my stomach has been hurting. I looked at my dresser and saw these sitting there (my roommate Kristin gave me them yesterday) and thought, "Chocolate makes everything better. Let's test this theory." And whatd'ya know? My stomach doesn't hurt (as much) anymore! Chocolate really does make everything better. :)

Kelsi's Life in the Last Week

Hello again! Here's what has been going on in the life of Kelsi:

February 28: Last day of February. February didn’t really feel like a month…more like a week. Weird. Anyway. I went to the BYU-Idaho bookstore and got a new journal, since (thanks to my journal a day) I’m almost done with my current one. And I knew if I didn’t buy one soon, I would have forgotten, and find myself at the end of my journal with the next day being Sunday and not being able to write. :\ The one I got is the same as the one I currently have. Can’t wait to start it :)

A couple months ago (like in October ish) I had a dream and thought it would make a good story (don’t worry, I’m not pulling a Stephenie Meyer here). So, I finally started writing it. I wrote the prologue, chapter one, and most of chapter two! When I typed it up, it came to just over 2000 words. Pretty sure that’s the most I’ve ever written in one day.

After FHE, I went to my FHE brothers’ apartment to watch Gabriel Iglesias. It was great :) afterwards we watched this movie called Joe Dirt. I would not recommend anyone watch this movie. Its dumb, and inappropriate during most of the movie.

March 1: I babysat Benson. And watched Life As We Know It.  Such a cute movie! I would recommend this movie to everyone :) whilst babysitting (when he was asleep) I finished chapter two and wrote most of chapter three!

Then I went grocery shopping. Hooray for food (I was running out)!

Then I watched Pawn Stars (a weird show about a pawn shop) and The Office with Nancy.

Then I went and saw The Eagle with Ron. It was…alright. Too much violence for my liking. And then the projector light-bulb broke with 30 minutes left in the movie. We sat there for a good 15-20 minutes before a worker came in, explaining the light-bulb broke. Lame. Luckily, the good people at Fat Cats gave us free movie tickets. Huzzah! During the 15-20 minutes of just hearing the movie, we tried guessing what was going on. It kinda felt like reverse silent films…

March 2: Nancy has been trying to sell a promise ring that an ex-boyfriend gave to her, and someone finally bought it. So, I took it to her at the Taylor. And then hung out at the Taylor while she went to class so we could walk to the post office together. We walked to the post office, and the clerk said that since we were sending it to Nigeria (the guy that bought it “lives here” but wanted Nancy to send it to his “girlfriend” in Nigeria), it was a scam.

I finished chapter three of my story, and wrote (and completed) chapter four.

Then I went to my FHE brothers’ Mike and Luke’s volleyball game, and then went to my other FHE brothers’ Ron, Tyson, and Chris’ basketball game. Ron, Tyson, and Chris’ team name is ‘Get Some’ (who knows why they named it that), so most of what the spectators were saying was easily turned into a ‘That’s What She Said’ joke. It was great :)

March 3: I babysat Benson. It was good…up til the last like 20 minutes. He got really cranky. I think its because I took forever to make him lunch. I wrote chapter five of my story while he slept. Later on in the day, I tried writing chapter six, but I couldn’t :\

I watched The Blind Side (second time this week) with Nancy and Trevor.

Then I was invited to watch a movie with my FHE family. We watched Just Wright. It was an okay movie. Pretty sure if I had watched it by myself I wouldn’t have found it funny.

March 4: For the first time all week, I was lazy. And I hated it. I contemplated life in the next couple of months and how it’s not going to be easy (no money, new apartment, school, etc). I thought about how awesome (sarcasm) my birthday is gonna be.

I didn’t write at all, which sucked. I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything all day.

I went out to ‘girls night’ with my roommates Kristin, Kristen, and Kelsi. It was a lot of fun :) we went to Dairy Queen for dinner, and then we went and saw Tangled.  We saw it in 3D, and I have to say I was severely disappointed. I haven’t seen a 3D movie in about 6-7 years (they give me headaches), and have changed so much. Absolutely NOTHING jumped out like they used to. Sure, things appeared off the screen, but back in the day, things would actually jump out at you and make you jump. Not anymore. So, frankly, I don’t see what the big deal about 3D is. Nothing special, just $2 extra.

Then we watched Hairspray  and had a sleepover in the living room.

March 5: I didn't really do anything. Just hung out all day. Then Ron came over and we hung out with my roommates Kristin and Kristen and their friend Caleb for a bit.

After hanging out for a while, we went and saw Just Go With It. My mom said it wasn't as raunchy as Adam Sandler's other movies, and I would have to disagree. It was really raunchy--tons of innuendos. What makes it worse is there were KIDS behind us at the theater. Can I just ask what person in their right mind would take a KID to an Adam Sandler movie?? It's Adam Sandler!!! I guess Just Go With It seems like a more "family friendly" movie, but it really isn't.

Then we went to his apartment and hung out with his roommates for a bit, and then we watched Alex & Emma. That one was...alright. There was a scene that was TOTALLY unnecessary...and frankly, didn't fit the time period it was set in at all. But it was still a cute movie.

MY ROOMMATE KELSI GOT ENGAGED!!! Ahh!! So happy for her :) she and her fiance (its always weird to say that the first time) are so cute together :) after she told us the story of how she got engaged, Kristin, Kristen, Kelsi and I had another sleepover, this time on the Kristens' bed (which felt way better than the floor the previous night, even though we were squished).

March 6: Church. I love it. Who doesn't? Today's Relief Society lesson was SUPER good. We talked about adversities and Christ. Loved it! It was so great to really put Christ's Atonement into perspective--to really look at all the things He has done for us, and yet most of us take it for granted. Sunday School was equally good, because we learned about Christ helping us. Interesting fact: y'all know that quote "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it"? Turns out, Christ never said that. And that quote isn't even true. You know why? All things are easy, through Christ.

After church, I immediately ate (it was Fast Sunday. I was starving). Then Kristin, Kristen and I went to our FHE brothers' house to watch the fireside with L. Tom Perry. He's such a cool old guy :) he has an iPod! How neat is that? His fireside was about bringing people back to the church. So cool.

After the fireside was over, we watched Despicable Me. It was my first time seeing it, and I was not disappointed :) so funny. Loved every minute of it :)

Then Ron, Tyson, Kayla, Mike and I played Chinese Checkers. I lost :( while we were playing Chinese Checkers, we were watching Forrest Gump on TV. It was my first time seeing it all the way through. Every time I've seen it was always the beginning and the end. Lame. I'm glad I finally saw it the whole way through.

Conclusion: I watched A LOT of movies this week. Some might say too many. And this week was really productive :) except for the last three days. Hopefully next week can be just as productive :)

Have a good day! :)

Two Months!

This is a couple days late. But, I have successfully completed month two of writing in my journal every day! Just thought I would let you guys know.

Have a happy "What if Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs?" Day!
