Rant.

EVERY state has bad drivers. Utah has them, Idaho has them, I'm pretty sure even Kentucky has them. A friend of mine tried to convince me that Idaho drivers were better than Utah's because he "couldn't count how many times he has gotten in a crash with a no-blinker-user from Utah." I retorted and said I couldn't count how many times I had almost been hit by an Idaho driver while crossing the street because Idaho drivers simply refuse to stop for pedestrians.

Many have heard stories that Utah drivers are the worst drivers in the country. I won't say they are the worst, but I will admit that there are things to be improved upon. Heck, I know there are things about MY driving I could improve upon.

Every state has different drivers' education programs with different methods of teaching, different laws and different "habits", so to speak.

If you grew up in Idaho (or Utah or Kentucky), said state isn't the best place on Earth. And when someone brings up a fact about your state that goes against your beliefs, that does NOT give you the right to act like a complete jerk and make the person you're talking to feel like crap.

Needless to say, I'm glad his mom and my mom have been in a disagreement for the past who-knows-how-many-years, because this means I don't have to see him for a very long time.

And, to the jerk I was talking to? Thank you for making my day SO much better. I was having a crappy day, but your remarks made it one of the best days of my life.

To everyone else, have a wonderful day.

A Glimpse Into My Life Recently...

Here's what's been going on since the beginning of May:
  • I've been introduced to a new social network website of sorts. I can't tell you what it is, cuz that would break the #1 rule of the website (which is "don't tell anyone about it"). Needless to say, I'm addicted to it.
  • Watched PS I Love You for the first time. Not as sad as I was expecting.
  • Fell in love with "Just a Kiss" by Lady Antebellum. :)
  • Saw old roommates Hahna and Megan :)
  • Got an early birthday present :)
  • First experience with Texas Roadhouse. Twas delicious. Since it was my first time, they gave me a free order of ribs (only 3) and a coupon for a free appetizer. Just gotta remember it the next time I go back :)
  • No one in my English class knew why May 4th is Star Wars Day. I was astonished.
  • Sat in the sun. And got burned. But its a lovely tan now :)
  • Went to Gringos restaurant in Rexburg for Cinco de Mayo. Nastiest. Mexican food. Ever. Nothing will ever compare to Los Hermanos in Provo. Nothing.
  • Wrote a poem for my mom. It sucked.
  • Wrote a letter of appreciation to my family. It was awesome (my teacher even said so :))
  • Attended my 4th bridal shower since living in Rexburg. Lots of fun :)
  • Played Grounders for the first time since October, and watched Mulan for the first time since I was a little girl (not sure which age). Also lots of fun :)
  • Started babysitting Benson again :)
  • Totally BS'ed a 4-pg paper for American Foundations. No word on what grade I received.
  • GORGEOUS weather!!
  • Bones completely shocked me in their season penultimate episode.
  • Wrote letters to missionary friends
  • My streak of no callings for three semesters was confirmed.
  • Wrote lots in my story (FINALLY).
Today:
  • Got 100% on my American Foundations test. YES!!!
  • Went to my fifth devotional of the semester. Out of five. :)
  • Paid deposit for Mountain Pines for the fall. Excited to move back :)
  • Will watch Glee's season penultimate episode.
Life's pretty good right now :)

Quote

My friend posted this on Facebook and I had to steal it.

"What really matters is that he will love you, that he will respect you, that he will honor you, that he will be absolutely true to you...He is not going to be perfect, but if he is kind and thoughtful, if he knows how to work and earn a living, if he is honest and full of faith, the chances are you will not go wrong, that you will be immensely happy."

Cursed.

I must be cursed.

My roommate went to a place, was filling out an application while the manager was talking to her, and he offered her a job. Just like that.

And yet, I have filled out HUNDREDS of applications, and have only had TWO interviews.

So, I must be cursed. That has to be the only reason as to why I can't get a job.

Four Months! Woo!

Another month of awesome journal entries has come and gone, and as of today, I'm roughly three pages away from the 50 page mark of my new journal. Crazy.

Can you believe its already May?? I sure can't. This year is going by so fast. My birthday is in 2 months 4 days and 35 minutes (as of 11:25 PM). Crazy.

Something random: I don't feel like I'm 18 years old. Maybe its just the fact that my birthday is coming up in 2 months 4 days and 34 minutes (as of 11:26 PM). Or maybe its just because I live with four 20-22 year-olds. Whatever the reason, I don't feel like I'm 18--more like I'm 20. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Today, May 2, 2011, is the 13th anniversary of the Battle at Hogwarts. Please take a moment of silence for those killed in the great battle.
