These are a few of my favorite things.

Getting off work early.
Skating (even though I fell and now hurt all over).
Denny's.
Sort of making new friends.
Getting asked out on a date.

All in all, today has been GREAT! :)

Best. Glee performance. Ever.

Whoever is responsible for coming up with this deserves a raise.
And a round of applause.

Sorry that it's low quality. I'll change it to the better version as soon as Fox uploads it to Youtube.

Why does school have to be so darn expensive?

Tuition: $1735.
Rent: $979
Food: Roughly $400.
Books: Around $300.

Grand total: Roughly $3400.
Projected amount of money I'll have in savings come April: $2500. Maybe.

I hate being an adult. Everything costs too much.

Michael Charles McCabe II

I'm a slacker and didn't write this on his birthday. Oh well.

Anyway. It was Mike's birthday on Tuesday! He's 17! He said he doesn't feel much older...which is probably because 17 is sort of an insignificant birthday. You don't earn anything on your 17th birthday (whereas you earn driving on your 16th and voting on your 18th).

Anyway.
He's going through this phase where he makes weird faces for pictures all the time. But said faces are hilarious. So we're okay with them.
 Cake. YUM.
So totally enthused to have gotten accessories for his iPod.
 He got $20 from Nana.
Megan got frosting on her elbow. She tried licking it off.
Caitlyn and Laura both have flat splits.
 He got an Aeropostale hoodie.
And an Aero t-shirt. The following pictures are of him "modeling" with this shirt.

Him attempting to show off his muscles.
 Oh wait. There they are.
Ripstick wheels...with yet another weird face.
Jeans.

I got him Brian Regan tickets. And I'm super excited to take him. :D sorry that it suddenly goes sideways. I'll have to remember the camera doesn't automatically switch like it does with pictures...

Happy birthday, Mike! Love you!

Enchanted.

I watched this movie today with my sister. The whole movie. I've watched it from the beginning to "How Do You Know" (because I had to do other things) at least 10 times since I dug it out of the black hole known as our movie collection on Sunday.

While watching the "King and Queen Ball" scene (ya know. The scene with the super cute song and the super cute Patrick Dempsey being all super cute and romantic and all that stuff. Mmhmm.) it made me wonder when I'll get my happily ever after.

Not that I'm wanting it right now or anything. I'm only 19. I don't want to get married until I'm at least 20. And then there's the whole I-might-go-on-a-mission thing.

But still.

It'd be nice if I had some sort of idea as to when my happily ever after will happen.

Because waiting is torture.

Fortunes.

My brother chose Chinese food for his birthday dinner. My fortune cookie's fortune says the following:

"Remember three months from this date. Good things are in store for you."

So, April 10 now has its own reminder in my phone that says "good things are to happen today." Woot.

I think I have finally made a decision.

My clusters (a cluster is sort of like half a minor) are now Journalism and Child Development. *nods* I think this will be the final change I make. And its good, because I like learning about Journalism and Child Development.

And with this extra knowledge I will have about the aforementioned subjects, I might be able to get a job in those departments if the book editor thing doesn't work out.

Right?

I sure hope so.

If not, I guess I always have a home at Little Caesars and The Valley Journals...hopefully.

So much for New Years resolutions.

I've broken every one I set. *sigh* the good thing is that I can get back on track whenever I want.

Now to decide when I want to get back on track...

Laura Marie McCabe

Today is Laura's birthday! She is officially NINE years old! Man, how time flies! In honor of her 9th birthday, I'm going to write nine things I love about her. :)

  1. She's possibly the cutest little sister. EVER.
  2. She always says the funniest things. Never a boring moment when you're around her.
  3. She's such a good helper...when she wants to be.
  4. Her "gangsta" face is hilarious. I'll have to take a pic of it sometime and post it on here.
  5. She gets really intense when playing Mario Kart (or any game, for that matter).
  6. She's an amazing little dancer.
  7. Her spunky attitude. She is definitely like Caitlyn the most.
  8. We've caught her listening to her mp3 player and dancing around and singing (without her noticing) and record her. Her reaction when she realizes someone's watching is priceless.
  9. She's my sister. How much better can it get?
Happy Birthday, Laura! I love you to the moon and back!

1.01.2012

Only 11 months and 20 days until we die.

Just kidding. I don't believe that's true. But it is fun to make fun of it. :)

I just found this on a blog, and I really love it.

"Today is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one."

I love that! Even though it's supposed to say "366-page" since this year is a leap year.

Some things I'm doing this year:
  • I'm still going to write in my journal every day. Not an entire page for one day, though. I'm just going to write everything I want to write that day. If its more than one page, that's great. If its less than one page, that's still great. It doesn't matter how much I write, as long as I write. Right? :P
  • I'm going to *attempt* to do that 365 Challenge, where you take a picture every day. We'll see how well that works out.
Some resolutions I want to work on this year:
  • Eat healthier.
  • Exercise more.
  • Read scriptures daily.
  • Pray morning and night.
  • Pick 3 of my favorite temples (that I've been in), buy pictures of them, hang them in my room, and put up a sign next to them that says "I WILL get married here someday." Or something to that effect.
  • Take off my makeup at night so I can stop having massive breakouts...along with this, wash my face morning and night.
  • Keep my room clean.
  • Keep reading Harry Potter (I want to finish the series before the end of the year).
In Relief Society today, our lesson was on how George Albert Smith made a "personal creed" for himself. Our teacher had us make a personal creed of our own. Here are the things I wrote down:
  • I will always keep the commandments of my Heavenly Father.
  • I will always be worthy to enter the temple.
  • I will always pay a full tithe.
  • I will always try to keep my gift of faith as mentioned in my Patriarchal Blessing.
  • I will always trust God's judgment, and know that whatever happens is part of His plan for me.
  • I will always make a conscientious effort to read my scriptures and pray daily.
  • I will start preparing now to serve a mission, even if I ultimately end up deciding not to go.
  • I will think of others before myself.
  • I will always be grateful for the things I receive, and express that gratitude as often as possible.
And last, but certainly not least, here is a list of things I want to happen in 2012:
  • Make enough money for school so I won't need a loan.
  • Get a job in Rexburg/Idaho Falls.
  • Get all A's and B's (more A's than B's) in school.
  • Figure out my minor/cluster and not change it ever again.
  • Have enough money for fall semester.
  • Babysit Benson Schmalle at least three times (if not more).
  • Find a way to do something for my birthday, not just sit in my apartment.
  • Buy a second lens for Sheldon (this isn't exactly important, but I'd like it to happen).
Happy New Year, everyone!
