I [Have] Survive[d]!!!
Imagine this song...except in past tense. I SURVIVED FINALS WEEK!! I got a C- on my American Literature final, a B on my Book of Mormon final, and a D+ on my Science final (which is WAY better than failing)! I was so happy I did well on my finals!
In other news, I decided to come down to Utah this weekend instead of next week. I'm so excited to surprise my family and to see them.
I'm excited to live in Hogwarts and share Narnia and house a boggart with Nanc^ in our room next semester :D its going to be EPIC!!!
I'm in a happy-go-lucky mood right now :D
Have a good day!!

So Many Movies...and Other Things I Want to Talk About :)
- Eclipse
- New Moon
- The Wedding Planner
- A Walk to Remember
- 17 Again
- She's the Man
- Baby Mama
- The Grinch
- Charly
- Pride and Prejudice
- Gabriel Iglesias' DVD Special
- Holes
- Penelope
- Maid of Honor
- 27 Dresses
- The Blind Side
Grand total (so far): 16
In other news, I took my first final yesterday. I'm anxiously awaiting to find out my score. I think I got at least a C, maybe a C-.
Our FHE brothers (we actually don't know if its them, but we heard our FHE sister who likes to hang out with our FHE brothers all the time, so we're guessing its them) put a 5-ft wall of snow in front of our door. Thanks, guys. Best Christmas present ever (sarcasm hand).
If any of you haven't heard of it, go check out http://www.deargirlsaboveme.com/. Its hilarious! Be warned, there's some interesting choice of words on that site. But its still funny.
I turned in three applications yesterday, as a last attempt at trying to get a job. I turned in applications at Arctic Circle, Dairy Queen, and Craigo's. Craigo's is hiring in the next couple of weeks, so here's to hoping I get a job there!
I have two more finals tomorrow (bleh) and I have to take a picture of myself (hopefully with the help of someone) today for my family's Christmas card (they were rude and decided to not include me in it. Ya'll could have taken it at Thanksgiving, you know...).
Anyway. Lots going on in the next few days. On Thursday my roommate is moving her stuff out (YES!!!) and my new roommate Nanc^ is moving her stuff in on either Thursday or Friday! I'm so excited to be her roommate! Then on Friday, I'm going to the BYU-IC and MC dedication services. President Henry B. Eyring and Elder David A. Bednar will be there. So cool!
After that, I will have the entire apartment to myself, as everyone is leaving for the holidays and I'm staying here an extra week to try to get a job (which is going to be really hard without anyone to drive me around, but I'll manage. I need to "work out"), and then taking the Salt Lake Express down to Utah for Christmas/the semester.
I really hope I get a job up here! I desperately need one so I can stay and be roommates with Nancy.
Have a great day!

(Basically) The end of the Semester
- Dropped a class after the first day
- Made a best friend
- Went through two break-ups
- Failed tests for the first time in a long time
- Went through something no one should ever go through (it will not be named)
- Had two roommates get engaged
- Tried writing a novel, and failed
- Planned something super secret
- Had Glee and Raising Hope nights on Tuesdays, then Bones, The Office, and Movie Nights on Thursdays; both with Nancy
- Adventures
- Didn't get a calling
- Went to two BYU football games, courtesy of the parents
- Awesome roommates
- Almost drained my life savings (not too thrilled about that)
Thats all that I can think of right now. Obviously its not quite the end of the semester, and I'm sure there will be many more things to put on this list in the next week. Have a good day!

Coloring!
In other news, I'm single. Woo.
I have a feeling this week will be going by super slow...mainly cuz its the week before finals and I just want school to be over with so I can know if I'm staying in Rexburg or not. Which reminds me, I need to talk to my manager about selling my contract...anyway. I just want this semester to be over so I can go home and spend time with my family.
That's all I have to say for now. Have a good day :)

Happy December!!
Pretty sure everyone I know is starting to listen to Christmas music. I wish I had such motivation. I can handle it for a few songs or so, but not 24/7 like some people I know (Mom). Don't get me wrong, there are some good songs. Its just...well, the thing is...ugh I just don't like listening to it all the time. I used to say I won't listen to it til day after Thanksgiving. Then I said I wouldn't listen to it til first day of December. It just doesn't feel like Christmas yet, even though there's plenty of snow up here in the good 'ol 'Burg. Maybe if we decorated our apartment, it would feel more like Christmas. Unfortunately, I don't have money for Christmas decorations, and I'm not sure if my roommates do either.
Anyway. The REAL purpose for writing this blog was to put the one and only Christmas story I have on here for you guys to enjoy. So, enjoy.
My uncle wrote his own version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" in a creative writing class. Here it is :)
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through my pad
Not a creature was stirring, and that's just too bad.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
They'd been worn for six months and they needed some air.
The children were nestled all snug in their cots
And we were both glad to be rid of the snots.
And Ma in her curlers and I in my shorts
Had just settled down for a few snores and snorts.
Then I heard a loud clatter outside of my place.
When I got up to look, I fell flat on my face.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
And fell to the yard with a great big kersplash.
I lay on my back in the new-fallen snow,
And I knew that it must've been forty below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a broken-down sleigh and eight stinky reindeer
With a little old driver so ugly and sick
I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.
As clumsy as beagles his coursers they came,
And he cursed and he shouted and called them bad names.
"Now Basher, now Cancer, now Clunker, now Clutzo,
On Vomit, on Stupid, on Slobber, on Nutso!
To the top of the porch, through the side of the wall,
Now, bash away, smash away, crash away all!"
So up to the housetop his coursers they went,
And when they had landed, his sleigh was all bent.
It smacked on the roof and then slid off the edge,
And those eight spastic reindeer crashed into the hedge.
I ran to the house just as fast as I could,
And then down the chimney he fell with a thud.
I noticed the way he was flopping and turning,
And then I remembered the fire was still burning.
I stood for a moment and watched his beard singe,
And the sound of his agonized screams made me cringe.
So I dragged him out into the room on his back,
And then I reached in and recovered his pack.
His beard was all black and was all burnt to bits.
When he looked in the mirror he went into fits.
He picked up his pipe and started to smoke
But when he inhaled, he gagged and choked.
I knew right away I had nothing to dread.
From the look in his eyes he was almost half dead.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work.
He filled all the stockings and looked like a jerk.
Then, laying a finger aside of his nose,
He blew it, and snot went all over his clothes.
He rose up the chimney and sprang to his sleigh.
I was glad he was finally going away.
I heard him exclaim as he hit a streetlight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night."
Merry Christmas everyone!

Gratitude
On one of the mornings that we were up in good 'ol Poky, ID (I can't remember which day it was), my dad had us go around and share one thing that we were grateful for. The thing I chose to say was tithing, for without it, my tuition would be TONS more than what I pay now. However, I would like to use this blog entry to list the 30 (for all the days of November) things I am grateful for.
- Tithing (see above for reason)
- This AMAZING school that I am attending, even if some of the rules are a bit ridiculous (*cough* no sweats on campus *cough*)
- My AMAZING roommates. I couldn't have asked for better roommates for my first semester of college. I hope my luck carries on and I continue to get awesome roommates the rest of my college experience (well, at least til I get married ;))
- My best friend Nancy, for without her, my college social life would be non-existent. Oh and my life just wouldn't be complete without her.
- My awesome boyfriend Chris. :) He's just amazing. We haven't really been able to see each other the past 2 weeks or so, but we'll get to see each other lots (hopefully) this week before we submerge ourselves (and by "we" I mean "him") in studying for finals, and then finals week. We also cuddle really close whenever we're together, so I'm always warm when I'm around him :D
- My awesome parents. They have done so much for me in my 18 years of existence, and I have realized that I never really thanked them for everything they did. So, thank you to my mom and dad for: buying most of the things I wanted until I was old enough to pay for it myself; letting me drive the van (even after my accident. Thanks to my dad for being so calm when I told him about it on the phone, when I thought of all opportunities in life he would yell at me most); giving me a home (with food and my own room); actually deciding to have me; paying for half of my insurance; being so patient with me when I had my ups and downs in my life; teaching me to love the gospel; keeping the gospel constant in our lives; the list is endless. THANKS!!!
- Scriptures. Even though I don't read them enough (gonna start working on that), they're pretty powerful, and I have been able to find so many new things in my religion class here at BYU-I compared to my seminary class at Riverton High [ha, I just realized the acronym (it is an acronym, right?) and the shortened name of my high school rhyme. Neat. :)].
- This is most recently, but I am grateful for Dayquil and Nyquil, for without it, this cold would be unbearable. Oh, and those chewable tablets my Nana gave me. They're supposed to be taken when you first think you're getting a cold, and I didn't start taking them til Saturday (a few days after the cold arrived), but I really think they're helping. Oh, and cough drops. I used one today after I could NOT stop coughing, and it helped tremendously.
- My apartment building's maintenance manager. He actually shovels the sidewalks [unlike CERTAIN people on campus (*cough* campus maintenance *cough*)]! --A little side note: Dear BYU-I campus maintenance: I have no idea what idiot told you it worked, but DIRT DOES NOT MELT ICE!!! In the words of Shakespeare, "Be not afraid of greatness," the greatness in this situation being rock salt that will actually melt the ice. Another great thing being shovels. I'm sure you have them somewhere in the place where you keep all the maintenance stuff, so don't be afraid to try new things and SHOVEL THE DARN SIDEWALKS ON CAMPUS!!! Its getting kinda ridiculous. Sincerely, Kelsi. Ahem. Sorry about that. Anyway. I think our maintenance guy's name is Rob, so THANK YOU ROB!!!
- I'm grateful for coats. Without mine, I'd have hypothermia by now. Which would not be good. Oh, and scarves, gloves, and hats.
- I'm grateful to have my camera back!!! I haven't been able to use it yet, however, due to having to charge the new batteries cuz someone took the ones I had out of my camera (to my family: sorry about that explosion I had...but really, it made me mad), but we should be set to go tomorrow! Now to find something/someone to take pictures of...
- I'm grateful for Ryan Murphy (I think that's his name), for without his awesome writing skills and amazing/talented brain, Nancy and I (and sometimes Chris) would not be able to enjoy the awesomeness that is Glee. I'm also grateful for whoever the creator of Raising Hope and Bones, for without their brilliant minds, Tuesdays and Thursdays just wouldn't be the same.
- I'm grateful that the cleaning fairies have FINALLY bestowed their gifts upon me. Its true what my mom always says: "You feel better about yourself when your home and room are clean."
- I'm grateful for the advanced technology my generation gets to enjoy, because without it A) I would not be typing this blog B) the teenagers of today would not be able to survive without knowing what their friends are doing and when and where C) I would have to do my homework the hard way D) I wouldn't be able to send a text to my friends or mom or whomever and get a response super fast (speed varies according to person and time of day) E) Tuesdays and Thursdays (and every other day) just wouldn't be as awesome without TV F) It provides laughter when the old folks attempt to understand texting and Facebook :D
- Food. Need I say more?
- The gospel. I could go on for hours (I think) about how amazing the gospel is, but because this is already getting huge, I won't. Instead, I will just share a few of my favorite things about it: A) President Thomas S. Monson. He's such a sweetheart, and has a sense of humor. I look forward to his talks every conference. B) The scriptures. I know I already mentioned these above, but I just love them (even though I don't read them often). C) Temples. Those have to be the best buildings known to man. I can't wait to get married in one someday. D) Patriarchal Blessings. Those are just neat, and great to have because it is the Lord talking to YOU. I love mine, even though most of the stuff in it have yet to happen. E) The Atonement. AWESOME!!! And thats where I end that before I bore you all to tears.
- I just barely thought of this, and it is really random, but I am grateful for the opportunity I had to be on The Silver Scribe (my high school newspaper), and for the amazing opportunity to be an editor my senior year. Without newspaper, I would basically be lost in the thought of "what do I want to be when I grow up?", although I'm sure I would have found my way to English somehow. Plus, newspaper held so many great memories for me, even if a lot of the days were filled with frustration.
- I'm grateful to have an apartment instead of a dorm. Apartments are just better.
- My laptop. I know this should be filed under technology, but I feel it should have its own "number". It has helped me so much in the 5 months that it has been in my possession. I hope to own it for a very long time.
- Hoodies. They also keep me warm.
- Awesome books. I love reading a good book (in mine and Nancy's Bookstore Nook). I hate reading an assigned book.
- I'm grateful to just be alive and well (even if I am a little sick).
- I'm thankful to live so close to campus so its not a long commute in the cold. Although, I do wish my classes weren't at the top of the hill. But, I'm not complaining, for besides the dorms I'd wager I have the shortest commute to campus.
- Facewash. Even though I don't use it as often as I should (another thing I'm working on), pretty sure my face would be unruly if I haven't used it at all.
- My (somewhat) knowledge of cooking. If only my college budget and fridge/cupboards would allow me to go beyond pasta, mac, ramen and quesadillas and go all out and make lasagna and enchiladas and hawaiian haystacks...definitely some of the meals I'm making when I get married.
- I know I mentioned temples in my "rant" about church, but I would just like to expound on them. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! I don't go as often as I should (I should work on that...), but whenever I do go, I love the spirit that I feel there. And the grounds for each and every temple are always beautiful. I'm thankful for the crews that keep said grounds beautiful. I love the work that is done in the temple, and I seriously cannot wait (well, obviously I can wait a couple years, but I'm excited) to get sealed to my husband for time and all eternity inside of one of 134 (so far).
- I'm grateful for the fact that I only have 3 weeks left in my first semester of college! Man, time flies...
- Body care products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, straightener, curling iron, makeup, etc). Without said items, all of us would be disgusting.
- I'm thankful for my siblings: Fabio (Mike), Bubbles (Caitlyn), LeFou (Megan), and Gonzalez (Laura). Even though they're crazy, they're a lot of fun. I had so much fun hanging out with them at Thanksgiving break, and I can't wait to spend time with them at Christmas break.
- And finally, I'm thankful for everything that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has gone through for me. I'm grateful to know that whenever I'm sad, angry, somewhat depressed, in pain, etc, He felt that pain in the Garden of Gethsemane during the Atonement. I LOVE THAT! He (along with my Heavenly Father) was there for me in my life when I needed it most and had no one to turn to. I can't wait to return to heaven and be with them again.
That was a lot harder than I expected, but I made it. I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving, and here we come Christmas. My mom has this awesome Christmas book, and it has a story (and a song) for the 24 days of Christmas. I wish I had it with me so I could type up the stories and put them on here, but that will have to happen in later years when I have my own copy of the book.
Have a great day!!

So...
I haven't updated this blog in a while, so I might as well give you a glimpse into whats been going on in my life.
Basically, I've just been going to school and sitting in my apartment, occasionally hanging out with Nancy, and seeing Chris here and there. Most recently, I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 with Nancy at midnight!! That had to be my highlight of the month. Seriously. It was awesome. I can't wait for Part 2 with Nancy! Then since Saturday I've been in Pocatello spending time with my grandparents before the actual Thanksgiving. However, I don't really want to go back to Rexburg...just cuz its super snowy up there and, lets face it, I just don't want to go to class anymore. I can't wait til the semester's over, and then I have a whole semester of *hopefully* just working and relaxing. Well, as much as I can relax while working *hopefully* full time and taking an online class.
Anyway. Thats basically all I've been up to. I read a book in the Bookstore and started another one. Both are pretty good. I can't wait to get back to the Bookstore to finish the one I started before the break.
Umm I think thats about it, but if I think of anything else I'll be sure to put it on here.
Have a good day!

What I've Been Up to This Week
Sunday! I went to stake conference, and I got to sit by my boyfriend Chris (he's in my stake, but sadly not my ward). That was fun. Then we took a nap on my living room floor. My roommate Megan captured a picture of this. :) Then we went back to his apartment and I had curry for the first time. It was alright, but I didn't absolutely love it. Then we watched a couple episodes of Psych, also my first time watching it. That show is pretty funny :) oh and we took a walk through the campus gardens and walked to the temple :D
Monday :( (the reason I put the frowny face is cuz Mondays ALWAYS suck. It snowed on Monday. Which is alright I guess. I listened to Christmas music, but only cuz it was snowing. Once it stopped snowing (the next morning) I stopped listening to Christmas music. In FHE we played this game called un-talent, which is where you write down a talent, put it in a bowl, then you draw a talent out of the bowl, and no matter what, you have to act it out. I got flying (probably the easiest one in the whole bowl).
Tuesday : Lets see what did I do on Tuesday. ... hmmm ... I CAN'T REMEMBER!!! This sucks...OH!! I finally remember! I watched Glee and Raising Hope with Nancy and Chris :D
Wednesday. Wednesday was a pretty boring day, not going to lie. The only fun thing I did was go to the store with Nancy and her boyfriend Trevor. Oh and I finally pulled out my sweaters for the winter, and put away all my summer-ish clothes.
Thursday :) Thursday was a pretty great day. I watched Bones (which was awesome). I watched The Office (which was about Glee. AAHH!!!). Then I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, part of the ABC Family Harry Potter Weekend :D I got to watch all three with Chris. Which was awesome. :)
Friday. Meh. Fridays at school are never fun. And I'm sitting in a class (before it started) writing this, and it was super quiet, and then this annoying girl walked in, and started talking, and she has this loud voice, and now its not quiet, and now I'm irritated. >:( I haven't done anything interesting yet today, but if I do, I will write it in here. BTW more of the annoyingly loud people showed up. And now I'm even more irritated. GRR...
And then obviously Saturday has yet to occur.
So yeah. Thats a glimpse into my life this past week. :)

More Things on My Mind
First! Its snowing! Woo! I love snow, but I hate the cold. On the bright side of things, this means snow men, snow angels, snowball fights, hot chocolate, warm blankets, an excuse to cuddle with my boyfriend ;) etc.
Second, I have issues with Christmas music. Its good, don't get me wrong, it just bugs me how early some radio stations play it. My rule is day after thanksgiving, or the day it snows and it sticks. I'm currently listening to it :)
Third, my boyfriend Chris is awesome. I spent the whole day with him yesterday (we got to go to church together) and it was one of the best days of my life. :)
Fourth, my best friend Nancy is awesome. We haven't had any adventures recently (and unfortunately) but we always manage to find something fun to do.
Fifth, "Better than Sex" cake is the bomb-dot-org.
Sixth, I'm oh so grateful for warm things. Like my apartment. Its always toasty warm in there.
Seventh, I wore tube socks over my pants with leg warmers over the socks today. And wore boots. Yeah. You're jealous.
Eighth, this blog is getting a new background :D
Ninth, I left my camera in Utah :( so now I have to wait two weeks (for Thanksgiving) to get it back :(
Tenth, I REALLY want it to snow tons so I can go build a big snowman in the Ricks Gardens. That would be flippin sweet. Dear Mother Nature, just dump all the snow you have on Rexburg. Yeah. I know its weird I'm asking for this, but please do it so I can build a huge snowman.
Eleventh, I want hot chocolate. And cake. And real food for lunch.
Twelfth, what should I eat for lunch? Nothing I own sounds appetizing. Except a chicken and cheese quesadilla.
Thirteenth, I have fallen SOOO far behind on my NaNo. It sucks. I just need to take an hour or two and sit down with no distractions around me and just WRITE. Yeah. If only I could do that.
Fourteenth, my newspaper staff went to DC for a newspaper convention ONE YEAR AGO on Thursday! Its crazy to think it was that long ago! Man so many good times on that trip. And so many memories. Ha! I want to go back so bad with them and re-live them...
Fifteenth...well...I can't really think of anything else to put. Except the fact that the Christmas song I am currently listening to is really weird...
Have a good day!!
10.30.2010
Lots of Things on My Mind...
First, toast with strawberry jam is awesome. I just barely ate it...therefore its on my mind.
Second, We The Kings is one of my favorite bands. Just in case ya'll didn't know.
Third, I want to thank all the people in my life that have been super supportive of me this week, which include: my boyfriend Chris, my best friend Nancy, my parents, and my roommates (Hahna, Megan, Sienna and Kara). Thanks you guys for being here for me when I needed it most.
Fourth, I got a C on my science test, which is super exciting considering I failed the previous two! Woohoo!
Fifth, Weird Al is somewhat of a genius.
Sixth, its really cold here in Rexburg. I need to unpack my sweaters and hoodies, and pack up my summery clothes.
Seventh, water is awesome. Specifically cold water.
Eighth, "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard reminds me of an outdoor pool. Not sure why.
Ninth, there's a huge possibility that I'm going to Lava Hot Springs today! I'm super excited for this because I've never been there (I know. I've been to Idaho about 1000 times in my life and I'm just now going. Something's wrong with that).
Tenth, I. Found. Waldo. Or should I say Waldette? It was a girl. But then later I found another Waldo. I took a picture of Waldette. Its on my phone. :D
Eleventh, "Kidnap My Heart" by 5 Leo Rise (The Click Five) is an amazing song, which brings back so many good memories. I was an extra in the movie Taking 5 which is a somewhat-awesome movie. I had a lot of fun being in it, and I can totally point myself out. :D
Twelfth, NaNoWriMo starts on Monday!!! I have my story outlined, now I just need to write down the order of how I want things to go...for those of you who don't know what NaNoWriMo is, its actually called "National Novel Writing Month", and you're supposed to write 50,000 words in the month of November. Once you reach 50,000 words, you can submit your story to be judged. Or something like that. IDK. I'm thinking about posting the chapters on here...but I might not. IDK. Depends on how well I think the story is. I'm very critical of my writing, so I would be super nervous about putting it on here.
Thirteenth, Halloween is tomorrow. But Trick-or-Treating is tonight for us crazy Mormons. I'm not going Trick-or-Treating (I'm too old, and cuz I might go to Lava), but on Monday I might go to Walmart and buy tons of candy...just cuz candy is delicious.
Fourteenth, I really wish I could get a job. I need one. Badly.
Fifteenth, I'm really hungry. I should make myself some lunch.
Sixteenth, this blog is getting really long.
Seventeenth, speaking of blogs, the Twilight blog that I read by Dan Bergstein is hilarious. He's in Breaking Dawn now and is shocked at the things Stephenie Meyer has chosen to write in said book. I'm currently going back through his previous blogs and writing down the things I think are funny. My friend Ashley Boeheme is also a Team Dan member, and for my birthday she printed off some of the pictures he draws for the blogs and some quotes and put them in a notebook for me. Thats where my favorite quotes from him go :D
Eighteenth, I like the scores from movies instead of soundtracks. I know, I'm weird, right??
Nineteenth, I'm really just trying to make this blog go to twenty things on my mind.
Twentieth, this blog entry is on my mind. And how ridiculously long it is. Sorry for making you guys read it...
Have a good day!!!

Friends!
To name my new friends...
Well, all my roommates are my friends. They are just awesome. I couldn't have asked for better roommates. There's Hahna (she's engaged and super sweet and nice), Megan (spunky and awesome), Keri (sweet and funny), Sienna [sarcastic (yay!) and nice] and Kara (nice and funny).
Then there's Nancy. She's probably the best person I've ever met. We hang out all the time and watch Glee, Raising Hope, and Bones, and then we have movie nights and adventures and its just awesome. I'm glad to call her my best friend :)
Then I've recently made new friends. Their names are Bryce, Chad, and Chris. They are hilarious! Always making my day whenever we hang out. Chad introduced me to Jim Gaffigan, Bryce is just funny with whatever he says, and Chris...well...he's a lot alike Chad and Bryce. :)
Those are the friends I've made so far, and I anticipate to make many more as my college education progresses. :)

My Weekly Adventure With Nancy
I realize this picture is...a bit off. But, thats how Blogger decided to upload it, and I am not technologically capable of fixing that at the moment. If any of you know how to do this, feel free to tell me in a comment ;) Anyway, its a picture of the San Diego Temple. I want to get married there one day :)
They have the Glee version of "Don't Stop Believin'" at the Bookstore! Nancy and I are "gleeks"
